505 and 525 North Brand Avenue

The fifteen story commercial office building at 505 North Brand Boulevard in Glendale, California has a uniquely featured granite cladding on the tower. The street front arcade is also granite cladd and organizes the retail spaces, lobby and plaza along the street. The 525 North Brand project is an adjunct expansion of the 505 North Brand office building. The three story building is also cladd in granite to compliment the first taller tower and also continues the retail spaces at the street level.

The structural steel moment resisting frames for the superstructures provide the lateral load resistance and easily responded to the setbacks for more corner offices in the top floors of the tower. The semi-light weight concrete metal deck floor system allowed long span floors column free in the lease spa for the buildings. The foundation system consists of drilled piers for the heavier loads in the office tower and spread footings were utilized for the low-rise portion.
