Fortune Garden

Shanghai, China
Fortune Garden is a residential/retail development in Shanghai,
China. The project consists of six high rise towers, a six story shopping mall, a school,
clubhouse and pool facilities. The high rises consist of two 23 story, two 27 story, and
two 28 story condominium towers. Four of the towers are interconnected by a 1 story
subterranean garage and plaza level. A 6-story shopping mall and 2-story subterranean
parking garage connect the remaining towers.
A mat foundation is used at the towers, while the plaza foundation utilizes pile caps and
grade beams. At the shopping center an upturned beam system is used, with precast hollow
core planks serving as the floor system. At the school a pile cap and beam system is used.
Precast concrete piles are used throughout the project.
The structural frame system for the towers consists of a central shearwall core with
perimeter concrete moment resisting frames. Due to the unique L-shaped floor plan, shear
walls are utilized at the edge of the tower to control torsional displacement. The floor
framing consists of two-way reinforced concrete flat slab system with drop panels. |
