6100 Canoga

Woodland Hills, California

The low rise office development of 570,000 sq. ft. consists of six-story contiguous building shapes surrounding a linear courtyard which scales the project appropriately. The main entry to the project is highlighted by the arched character of the building above. The landscaped plaza is tilted upward for better viewing from the main entry, but also to conceal the parking facility beyond. The unique architectural design features precast concrete cladding formed into a richly textured facade. The contiguous parking facilities include space for 2,200 cars.

The structural system utilizes moment frames for lateral load resistance. The lease spans were maximized by configuring composite floor trusses for the mechanical ductwork. The building program led to a unique floor girder design, which allows a 9 ft. ceiling within a 12 ft. 4 in. floor to floor height. The foundation system utilizes precast concrete piling.
